Dr. Christine E. Wood teaches Biblical and Systematic Theology at John Paul the Great Catholic University, San Diego, and Catholic Distance University in Virginia. She is the President of the St. John Centre for Biblical Studies in Sydney and the Director of the Office of Evangelisation in the Archdiocese of Hobart. In 2015 Christine established the Verbum Domini Biblical & Catechetical Institute based in Hobart with the aim to form missionary disciples for the new evangelisation. She received her Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Marquette University, Milwaukee, with a dissertation entitled, The Metaphysics and Intellective Psychology in the Natural Desire for Seeing God: Henri de Lubac and Neo-Scholasticism. She earned her M.A. in Theology, as well as a Certification in Catechetics, from Franciscan University of Steubenville. Christine has experience teaching a variety of courses including Introductions to the Old and New Testaments, the Gospels, Catholic Epistles, Fundamental Theology, Christology, Ecclesiology, Eschatology, Moral Theology, Sacraments, and the Church Fathers, amongst others. Besides university level courses, Christine has presented parish-based courses on Scripture and theology to foster biblical literacy amongst the faithful. She has also delivered conference presentations on the philosophy and theology of St Thomas Aquinas.
