Dating relationships should lead to people experiencing real love, but for so many they bring confusion and heartbreak. The state of our dating culture, both secular and Catholic is really messy. Catholics should be dating in a way that is intentional, honourable, and pure, but sadly this is often not the case.
For 15 years, teens and young adults have shared their dating confusion, heartbreak, and pain with me. Many young Catholics who desire real love have been left disappointed, frustrated, and overwhelmed by the dating scene. They find it almost impossible to remain hopeful that real love still exists—that "the one" is eally out there somewhere. Those who have made mistakes in the past find it very difficult to believe they are still worth real love. This is a tragedy.
In "How to Date with Passion and Purpose" I draw on both my own singleness and dating experiences and on the vulnerable testimonies of others. This book is a roadmap for Catholics to navigate singleness, friendships, and dating relationships without lowering their standards, compromising their purity or losing their faith and values. It will walk you through the dos and don'ts of friendship and dating in a practical, easy-to-understand way.
The current standard for how most Catholic men and women approach relationships is not good enough. I want to raise the standards of dating in Australia and beyond. It is my hope that this book will help young Catholics end confusion, hold to a higher standard, and find the real love they deserve and desire.
