The Mexican Martyrs: St Christopher Magallanes and his 24 Companions - Ruben Quezada & Charbel Raish (Paperback)

THE FAITH WAS THEIR STRENGTH.
CHRIST WAS THEIR KING.

The Mexican Martyrs is the powerful true story of faith’s endurance in the face of brutal persecution. Set in early 20th-century Mexico, this book reveals how anti-clerical laws and government oppression forced the Catholic Church underground, igniting a movement of resistance known as the Cristero War. Through vivid accounts of priests, laypeople, women, and children who risked—and often gave—their lives for their beliefs, the narrative captures secret Masses, acts of defiance, and the unwavering cry: “Viva Cristo Rey!”

From the gentle courage of Fr. Cristóbal Magallanes to the heroic sacrifice of young José Sánchez del Río, these pages celebrate ordinary people transformed into extraordinary witnesses. Their legacy, recognized by canonizations and honored by generations, is a testament to the power of conscience, community, and hope. The Mexican Martyrs is not just a chronicle of suffering, but a call to remember and a beacon of inspiration for all who seek courage and conviction in the face of adversity.
